What It Means to Dream About a Toilet or Bathroom
Toilet dreams are known in dream interpretation as symbols of cleansing and financial luck. We explore them by cleanliness and scene.
The Basic Meaning
A toilet dream feels a little embarrassing, but in dream interpretation it is actually known as a symbol of cleansing and financial luck. Because it is the place where the body releases what it no longer needs, it is often read as representing a season for letting go of unnecessary things in your heart and your life. There is also a long tradition of linking water and plumbing with the flow of money, and a dream of a clean, bright bathroom is sometimes considered a sign of healthy finances.
What It Means in Different Situations
A Clean Bathroom
A symbol of financial luck and a clear, refreshed heart — considered a good dream. It is a season when the circulation of your life is improving.
A Dirty Bathroom
An expression of built-up fatigue, or of feelings you want to tidy away. If the dream had you cleaning it, that is a good sign that cleansing is progressing.
Cleaning a Bathroom
An expression of the power to put your own luck in order with your own hands. It is said that keeping the water areas of your real home clean improves the flow of money luck, too.
Searching for a Bathroom
This expresses a wish to feel refreshed and clear, or to have a place where you can feel at ease. It is a season when securing a place to rest matters.
Not Making It to the Bathroom in Time
A state where feelings or tasks have built up to the limit. Rather than holding it all in, it is important to let it out early.
A Clogged Toilet
This represents a state where emotions or tasks are stagnant. Resolving them one by one will restore the flow.
A Crowded Bathroom, or a Line
This represents a feeling of matching everyone else's pace too much, or sorting your feelings in a public place.
Flushing
A symbol of drawing a line under past events and feelings. A dream that leaves you feeling refreshed is a sign that cleansing is progressing.
Something Overflowing from the Toilet
This points to a season when feelings you have been holding back come to the surface. Letting them out can bring relief.
Your State of Mind When You Have This Dream
You are likely to have this dream when the wish to "feel clear and refreshed" is rising in your heart. It also very often appears simply as your body's own signal, just before waking during sleep — in that case, it is fine to receive it as your body's rhythm rather than a dream's meaning.
How It Differs from Similar Dreams
A money dream reflects the state of your energy and confidence, while a toilet dream focuses on the cleansing of letting unnecessary things go. A water dream reflects your overall emotional state; a toilet dream is a symbol of exits and clean breaks.
The Flow of Your Luck, and Some Advice
Your financial luck is in a season where it improves as you put its circulation in order. Letting go of things you don't use, organizing the inside of your wallet, keeping your bathroom and kitchen clean — such actions call in the flow of abundance. For your heart, too, gradually putting unspoken feelings into words will help the cleansing along.
