XIX The Sun
Brightness · Honest joy
Upright meaning
The Sun is brightness and honest joy, and the power of things opening up in clear weather. Today, your feelings naturally turn forward, and smiling exchanges with the people around you come easily. Joy felt honestly, and gratitude expressed, create still better cycles. Spending the day with a child's pure curiosity can also lead to new discoveries. Fresh air and sunlight pair well with the day. Put one plan on the calendar that lifts your mood, and enjoy it wholeheartedly. Sharing good news with the people around you spreads the joy. A cheerful heart brightens the day still further. The wish to move your body and to try new things also rises naturally. Bright greetings and smiles warm your relationships.
Reversed meaning
The Sun reversed suggests that although you want to spend the day brightly, your energy may cloud over a little. Things may not progress as much as you hoped, or your mood may not lift. But it is because cloudy days exist that sunny ones feel precious. Rather than forcing yourself to act bright, treasure rest for your heart and body first, and the flow will settle. Take in some sunlight, move your body lightly, enjoy a favorite food — gather small sources of energy. The eyes that find small joys widen the clearing, little by little. Don't compare yourself with the brightness around you; your own pace is fine. Giving yourself a longer stretch of time with things you love becomes a way to recharge your heart. Beyond the rest, your natural smile will return again.
